Tax payment reporting for road freight contractors
Payments made to Australian road freight contractors will be subject to taxation from July 1, 2019.
TheAustralian Government passed a law that extended the Taxable Payment Reporting System (TPRS) to road freight.
The measure has been introduced to countert he black economy where cash transactions are made without being declared to the tax authorities.
LH Cargo launches new application for DG
Lufthansa Cargo has introduced a new application to digitise documents used in the transportation of dangerous goods.
DGD.online provide shippers with support for shipments sent via air, road and sea. The application can be used dangerous goods declarations and send them automatically, complete with attachments such as safety data sheets.
It also features integrated validation and convenience features aimed at accelerating processes and preventing costly errors.
BA resumes direct flights to Pakistan
British Airways will resume direct flights to Pakistan following a gap of ten years. The decision to restore the route was made a “a reflection of the great improvements in the security situation in Pakistan in recent years,” according to Thomas Drew, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan.
Pakistan has been keen to promote its improved safety image in a bid to lure investors as the government negotiates its 13th International Monetary Fund bailout since the late 1980s.
